My Journey

Before diving full-time into my art, I spent a decade as a graphic designer in the automotive and aerospace industries, where I honed my skills and developed a keen eye for detail. Following that, I dedicated 17 years to freelancing as a graphic designer while raising my family. During this period, we relocated around the country for my husband’s job, and I completed a master’s degree in traditional illustration. I also taught community art classes and volunteered extensively, enriching my artistic journey and broadening my perspective.

Professional Activities

I’m proud to be a member of both the Chester Artists Association and the Side Street Gallery Artist Association, communities that continually inspire and challenge me. Besides painting and illustrating, I love to read and craft, always eager to learn new techniques and explore different styles. I’m particularly drawn to the symbolic and surreal elements found in Salvador Dali’s work, which often inspire my own artistic endeavors.

Lifestyle

I work as a Virtual Assistant within my business, Task Owl VA, LLC. In addition to creating art, I run an Etsy shop where I sell printables under the shop name MossyHavenDesigns, and I offer an online course designed to empower creative entrepreneurs. My course, found at createwithlaurie.com, focuses on mastering design thinking, helping participants elevate their products and develop innovative strategies for business success.  I love reading and spending time in nature.
