Artistry Awaits

Where Art and Nature Meet Wonder
Each piece I create is a small celebration of nature’s beauty, whimsy, and magic—capturing the spirit of the wild and the tenderness of memory. My art is both a reflection of the world around me and a way to stay connected to joy, curiosity, and imagination.
My Journey
My journey as an artist began with ladybugs and horses—tiny drawings made for my grandmother who loved her garden, and hours spent sketching animals in my bedroom. Encouraged by creative relatives and inspiring teachers along the way, I always felt that art was a language I was meant to speak.
From the pride of being selected for a childhood art show to the nurturing support of mentors like my high school art teacher Mrs. Ferrell, art has always been both a comfort and a calling. Over time, my style has grown, but the heart behind it—playful, observant, deeply connected to nature—has remained constant.
Professional Activities
Today, I continue to explore and express my creativity through painting and mixed media work. Acrylics remain my medium of choice, appreciated for their flexibility and vibrant quality, but I’ve expanded into layered pieces that incorporate gelli prints, sketches, and other hand-crafted elements.
I’m an active member of the Chester Artists Association, regularly participate in community and online classes, and show my work locally—including at Crossroads Art Center in Richmond, Virginia. I’ve also led community art classes and love sharing the joy of creativity with others.
A Creative Life
Outside the studio, I find inspiration in quiet moments—walking in nature, bird watching in my backyard, or journaling dreams and flashes of inspiration. I volunteer with a wildlife rehabilitation group that brings animals into public programs, deepening my connection to the natural world.
Reading, crafting, fresh flowers, and pulling wildlife-themed oracle cards are all small joys that keep my imagination alive. I also love discovering new creative paths, like taking stained glass classes or participating in drawing challenges like Inktober. My creative life is a gentle, ongoing conversation between the inner world and the world around me.
